ISACA Global recently released new resources surrounding the Information Technology Assurance Framework (ITAF). As you may know, ITAF provides guidance on the design, conduct, and reporting of IT audit and assurance assignments, and defines terms and concepts. You can use these standards to examine professional roles and responsibilities; knowledge and skills; and diligence, conduct and reporting requirements. The new resources listed below are free of charge.
ITAF RESOURCES
- IT Audit Framework (ITAF™): A Professional Practices Framework for IT Audit, 4th Edition offers guidance and techniques that will lend consistency and effectiveness to audits. Use it as a reference guide to assess the operational effectiveness of an enterprise and in ensure compliance.
- An ITAF™ Approach to IT Audit Advisory Services is a new set of standards and guidelines. While internal IT auditors are not subject to SEC rules, the SEC’s independence guidance given to public auditing firms has been (and continues to be) a source of best practices for internal IT auditors. This publication can help you better navigate the expectations.
- ITAF™ Companion Performance Guidelines 2208, Information Technology Audit Sampling is a companion to ITAF. IT audit and assurance practitioners can turn to this resource for guidance when designing, selecting, and evaluating an audit sample which ultimately helps achieve the requirements of sufficient evidence.
